
Mean Ole Lion Media is a Content Production Company and Podcast Network. We produce podcasts for the network and host third party content for distribution.
We began production and distribution in the summer of 2020 with 4 podcasts. We now produce and distribute 21 podcasts having surpassed 150K in total downloads since launching and with over 20K a week. There are 3 more podcasts scheduled to launch in Q4 of 2022.
The Mission: Mean Ole Lion Media is a megaphone for new and established voices in the Black and Brown culture. We are committed to Entertain, Inform, Uplift and Engage people of color and all who would listen with conversations and stories from podcast content that is credible and consistent and relevant to their lives

KEN JOHNSON
Content is king. The day is here where people use podcasts in the car and public transportation during their morning/afternoon commute or a long drive just as easily as music. Personality is the driving force in this already crowded space. You have to be real, relatable, confident and amusing to connect. Outside of that you must be extremely knowledgeable on a particular subject, the rest can be excused. After you have compelling content and host(s) I believe knowing your audience and how to reach them via social networks and their personal devices gives you a chance for popular profitable show.
Most recently VP of Urban Formats for Cumulus Media, I’ve programmed or hosted multiple formats, (Sports, Oldies (Elvis and the Beatles), Urban Hip Hop, Urban Adult, Jazz and Gospel). Ken also has experience programing in large, medium and small markets. From Boston to Birmingham AL, He has worked at the station level in Washington DC, Philadelphia and New York. In addition, held the Director of Urban Programming post at iHeart Radio, ABC Radio Networks working with big name personalities as Doug Banks, Big Boy, Tom Joyner and Brian McKnight.
