With a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications in hand and shortly after receiving her master’s degree in broadcast journalism from the MEDILL School at Northwestern University, Sharí Nycole began her career in journalism as an Associate Producer for Towers Productions in Chicago, IL. While at Towers Productions, she produced on the TV One series’, “Find Our Missing” and “Parole Diaries,” along with “Mobsters” for the Biography channel.
In October 2013, Sharí Nycole relocated to Washington, DC to join the production team at TV One and launch the first black daily news program in broadcast history, “News One Now.” While at “News One Now,” she wore many hats, including broadcast producing, field producing, feature producing, special programming, videography, editing, graphics supervision and correspondence work at various red carpet events, most notably, the NAACP Image Awards and Essence Festival.
During her tenure in Washington, DC, Sharí Nycole also served as sole producer for the PBS talk show “The Rock Newman Show,” a weekly one hour series featuring interviews with various celebrities, political figures and community leaders.
In May 2017, Sharí Nycole headed to Atlanta ,GA to serve as a segment producer, field producer and editor on the breakout TV One talk show, “Sister Circle Live.” Her most notable accomplishment with the show was producing and editing several feature pieces for the widely popular “Sister Cam” series, which she was instrumental in creating.
While juggling her duties with “Sister Circle Live,” Sharí Nycole took on a co-executive producer position on Will Packer Media’s live Twitter series, “Power Star Live,” leading a passionate crew and curating content pertinent to the Black Twitter experience.
Sharí Nycole ended her run with “Sister Circle Live” in April 2020, and through her production company, Sharí Nycole Media, shortly thereafter she served as an executive producer and co-edited “The Making Of A Woman” documentary series on Fox Soul, produced “The Jeezy Show” on Fox Soul, launched a successful podcast, “Just A Thought W/ Sharí Nycole,” and began hosting a weekly radio show on Philly’s Favor 100.7FM called, “The Gray Area.”
In January 2021, Sharí Nycole became the co-host of “The Willie Moore Jr. Show.” In addition to expanding her radio hosting reach, she served as an executive producer on the TV One docu-series, “One Stage To The Next.” Shortly thereafter, she landed a role at Essence as the branded content video producer and won Content Creator of the Year at Black Media Honors.
Sharí Nycole believes every story should cater to the needs and wants of the audience and provide them with information pertinent to how they can remain informed and entertained. She prides herself on telling the truth beautifully in a way that’s bold but not abrasive and having the courage to confront the uncomfortable.
Aside from her commitment to broadcast entertainment and journalistic integrity, Sharí Nycole is a health and wellness influencer and fitness enthusiast who enjoys challenging herself in the gym and encouraging others to do the same.
