Going to Georgetown, SC and digging into my ancestral lineage opened up my eyes to so many new experiences…..and VERY strong emotions that I wasn’t prepared for or expecting. From rice fields to slave cabins to slave cemeteries, understanding and deepening my respect for the ancestors is only the beginning of my Georgetown takeaways.
